Fall Is Full of Big Things at UnoDeuce Multimedia

Fall is shaping up to be a busy one at UnoDeuce Multimedia.

After 25 years of telling stories, building relationships and creating media that connects people and organizations with their communities, there is plenty to celebrate. And this season, UnoDeuce is bringing people together for three events and initiatives that reflect what the company has always been about: community, creativity and a good reason to have some fun.

From a milestone anniversary celebration to the return of the UNO Cup and another episode of Hope in Action with Sheri Jones, there is a lot happening. Here are three things to have on the radar this fall.

25 Years of UnoDeuce

The biggest event on the calendar is also the most personal. UnoDeuce Multimedia is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and Paul Schmidt, owner and creative video strategist, is inviting the people who have been part of the journey to celebrate.

The 25th Anniversary Celebration is set for September 25th at Lansing Shuffle from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The evening is an opportunity to look back at the people, projects and moments that helped shape UnoDeuce over the past quarter century. There will be plenty of time for laughter and reminiscing, along with music and dancing to Metro Melik on the Ones and Twos.

The evening will also feature Sheri Jones, who will conduct a short presentation and interview Paul about his journey growing and transforming UnoDeuce Multimedia. It is a chance to hear more about where the company has been, how it has evolved and what has made the last 25 years possible.

For those who cannot make it in person, there is still a way to be part of the celebration. Supporters can send in a video message to Paul, and there is also an opportunity to submit questions for his conversation with Sheri Jones. Those questions can be sent to paul@UnoDeuce.com with “UnoDeuce AMA” in the subject line.

The UNO Cup Returns

If celebrating 25 years is about looking back, the second annual UNO Cup is all about what happens next. The nonprofit UNO tournament returns on Giving Tuesday, December 1st. Last year's champion, Origami Rehabilitation, will be back to defend its title during the championship round.

The tournament will take place live in the UnoDeuce studio and feature four rounds of UNO competition beginning around 4 p.m. Three preliminary rounds will feature four nonprofits battling it out for the opportunity to compete for the championship.

With just 12 nonprofit spots available, organizations interested in participating will want to secure their place early. Each nonprofit will also need to have a sponsor lined up by the middle of October. And because it wouldn't be the UNO Cup without a little extra energy, celebrity players will join the competition as well.

The event is more than a card game. It is a way for nonprofits, sponsors and the community to come together for some friendly competition while putting organizations and their missions in the spotlight.

Hope in Action Continues

The third piece of the fall lineup is already underway. Hope in Action with Sheri Jones has released its fourth episode, focusing on Hispanic Heritage Month. The series continues its goal of highlighting people who are making a positive impact in the community and sharing stories that deserve to be seen and heard.

For Paul and UnoDeuce, that mission is at the heart of the project. “We aim to shed light on the amazing people making a positive impact in our community,” Paul says.

New episodes are released at the start of each month, giving viewers another opportunity to discover the people and stories making a difference around them. And there are ways for the community to help the series reach even more people. Subscribing on YouTube, liking Hope in Action on Facebook and following along on Instagram all help extend the reach of these stories.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for organizations that want to support the initiative and help bring more community-focused stories to audiences.

A Fall Built Around Community

Three different initiatives. Three different ways to connect. The 25th Anniversary Celebration is a chance to celebrate the people who helped make UnoDeuce what it is today. The UNO Cup brings nonprofits together for competition, collaboration and fun. And Hope in Action with Sheri Jones continues shining a light on people doing meaningful work in the community.

Together, they offer a pretty good snapshot of what UnoDeuce Multimedia has spent 25 years doing: bringing people together, telling stories and finding creative ways to connect with an audience. So mark the calendar, follow along and stay connected.
